As Sarah locked up the car, Clover talked to her.
"I never thought...heard of that happening, well my mother was always like this and never imagined, she and I always assumed it was genetics but maybe...well it had to start somewhere...I guess. Let's go inside and yes The Torch is a good idea and...if you don't want me speaking to you telepathically, I won't speak like that and don't worry about privacy, I can keep to myself,"
Well, Having just gotten this power earlier today, I don't know much either...at least you've had your life to get used to this, I'm still slightly afraid of myself...I don't know when I'll lose control. And, whatever you would like is ok, just know that being...new to this whole thing, I'll respond aloud, unless it's something I don't want overheard.....that's just how I am.
Sarah heard the tinkle of the bells on the door when she walked through, almost losing control again with the handle, but for some reason, her hand didn't melt, was she gaining control finally? Slowly at least....maybe. She found a small round table with two chairs and beckoned over a waitress.
I'll have a 1% double shot on ice, with only a little ice, top it up with the milk, and add a shot of vanilla please.
With slight amusement, she saw the waitress slightly frazzled, trying to write it all down, and Sarah waited for Clover to order a drink. She tossed her hair over her shoulder, getting it out of her face.

Clover silently sat down in her seat and smiled when the waitress turned to her. "I'll have an espresso, iced with 2% milk, please," she said hardly even thinking about what she was ordering since it was the only drink she got when she came here. She watched the waitress walk away as she leaned forward folding her arms on the table. "I can only think practice could help or time." She said once the waitress was gone. She was looking meaningfully at Sarah. Even though reading minds didn't require a lot of control...speaking telepathically did and it took her a couple months before she had complete control, and before that she wasn't very social since she was in fear the she might answer an unspoken question outloud or telepathically by accident.

Sarah started to play around with a sthingy on the table, figiting. Do you.... do you think there are others like us? I mean... I knew it happened a long time ago, but, do you think that what happened to us was just a fluke?
She thanked the waitress for the drinks and took a sip. The icy coolness sunk into her and cooled her down instantly, it was hot in Smallville! Well, no wonder, it WAS summer.
I hope time and practice will help, I don't want to be treated as an outcast. What would happen if people found out our secrets?
Her voice had dropped to a whisper. She knew that when Clover talked to her mind, she could respond with her mind, but she didn't know if she could say that without first being let in through Clover. She decided just to keep her voice down.

ooc: Sorry it took me so long to respond. I've been busy...
Clover nodded thoughtfully. She never thought through stuff like this, she had always been able to keep it a secret. "I beleive there are others like us. Afterall I found out about you, I could well, listen around and I could probably find others but otherwise I wouldn't want others to find out," she said then gave a sigh. She took a drink of her espresso. She dilberated for a moment then let out a small short laugh. "It's funny, I have no friends in school because I just don't want but either way I don't fit in but your the first person I ever talked to outside of school. She told Sarah smiling brightly.

Sarah let out a soft laugh.
Me neither, everyone thinks I'm a little stuck up I think, I'm just....shy, as you saw in the halls. That's made worse by...well, you know. I feel like I'll always have to watch me back...for fear of being seen.
She let out a small smile.
